Department of Computer Informatics was established in 1989.
Department lecturers traditionally take courses at FMI in programming, data structures, databases, artificial intelligence, distributed systems.
The department supports several masters programs - Embedded Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Information Systems, IT Services and Projects.
Lecturers from the department actively participate and prepare doctoral students in the doctoral program in Information Systems.
Some of the young faculty members of the department have completed these programs.
2009 saw the 30th anniversary of the creation of the first two departments in the field of computer science at the FMI, and this is a good reason to look back in history.
